Tactile CRM on Amazon

Written lovingly by Jake Stride on April 1st, 2008.

So we recently applied to be put on the Amazon Marketplace as we use S3 for file storage for Tactile CRM, and it must have gone through as it appeared on the Amazon Developer newsletter this month. A nice upshot is that we have had a peak in sign ups today as people are getting the newsletter and signing up.

The newsletter is online here and seems to have increased our traffic 10-fold on our daily average yesterday.

Some quick Tactile Stats

Written lovingly by Jake Stride on March 28th, 2008.

Tactile CRM has been available for just over a month now. We currently have over 700 pages linking to us (according to Google), and have just reach our 300th signup.

Chipping away at the institutions!

So we finally got a mention on one of the big blogs today - ReadWriteWeb mentioned about our Google Contacts API integration (Greg is putting the finishing touches to a tech post on this which will be up tomorrow) in one of their articles and a link through to the Tactile CRM. Next stage is an article about just Tactile CRM!

I also learnt a new word today - Socialprise - social tools + enterprise = “socialprise”. Thanks Sarah for that one too! I feel honored to think of Tatile CRM breaking these new boundaries!

Viral Marketing

So Pot Noodle have done a spoof of the excellent Guiness advert

This is one of those viral marketing ideas at its best - 160,000 hits in a week.

So how do we do the same thing for Tactile CRM? Well we can’t do the same for Tactile, but we are trying to build buzz and links with things like links and articles from Web Worker Daily. TechCrunch (UK) and Read Write Web are still proving elusive!

Tactile Take Two

Written lovingly by Jake Stride on March 13th, 2008.

Tactile CRM has been live for a month now and we now have over 275 people using the system.

We want to carry on improving our CRM system and this is where we need your help. We want to start incorporating some of the new features from Tactile CRM into our Open Source product, EGS, and find out what new features and improvements we can make to Tactile. As an incentive to those of you who help us out with the improvements on the system (just sign up check it out, and leave comments, suggestions and feedback on our forum) we are offering three free months subscription to the Tactile plan you use.

We do value and listen to feedback that we receive, we have already implemented several new features that have been suggested by users since we launched, including:

  • Internationalisation (opportunity values)
  • Date formatting
  • Timezones
  • ‘Quick Complete’ for activities (one click to complete)
  • Searching on Town and County/State fields
  • and many others

and we are just putting the finishing touches to vCard imports and Google Contacts import using their new API which will be available shortly.

We know the importance of building communities around software (we have worked hard to do this with our Open Source Software EGS, and don’t worry we have some major new functionality coming including a new release and a full ERP/Accounting module for it) and we want you our users to take the lead and help make Tactile a powerful, easy to use system.

WebMission 2008, a follow up

Written lovingly by Jake Stride on March 11th, 2008.

So Tactile CRM didn’t get chosen for Web Mission 2008, but the list of those going is now up so best of luck to all of those involved, should be a really good event.

Using Google AdWords

Written lovingly by Jake Stride on February 22nd, 2008.

So I am starting to get addicted to AdWords. tweaking keywords and adverts to boost signups forĀ Tactile CRM, our cost effect contact and sales system. I won’t mention specific competitors but I have been surprised that our advert being shown against one of our competitors is proving to drive the most traffic and signups to our sites. I’m also surprised where a lot of our signups are coming from - I’ll post some stats on these in the next couple of days.

Tactile CRM - spreading the word

Written lovingly by Jake Stride on February 11th, 2008.

As if on queue, a new version of Crunchbase has been released. I have just tried to submit Senokian and our low cost, affordable CRM system - Tactile.

Techcrunch is one of those great places to get noticed by and can often help make web applications. It is notoriously difficult to catch their attention as they are so busy - introductions are often useful and I am hoping that the guys at Polecatting may be able to help - they are involved in the 2008 Web Mission I mentioned this week and that I am hoping we may be able to get involved with.

I’m also trying to register on the forums, but they seem to be down at the moment.

Tactile is go!

Written lovingly by Jake Stride on February 11th, 2008.

Wow, what a big milestone - Tactile CRM is now live and all of our payment engine etc. is in place for people to sign up to Tactile CRM. I’ll write a bit more about it soon, as you can imagine we have a lot to do at the moment with the launch but check back for more news.
